Rooftop Fun with an Ocean View
Thanks to a referral from golf coach Hank Haney, John Merrick of the Freeman Group placed a call to the Ultra Base team and ultimately started the ball rolling on this extraordinary rooftop putting course for the vacation home of one of Hollywood’s top directors.
The Project
The original project called for a rooftop garden for this 7,000 square foot space overlooking the Pacific Ocean. However, creative minds came together and the design for this six-hole putting course was conceived.
Ultra Base panels were chosen to serve as the base for the artificial grass putting course as the designers wanted a lightweight foundation that would provide both the desired structural support and drainage capabilities desired.
The Ultra Base panels streamlined the installation process which included a pre-poured waterfall and stream running through the course of uniquely contoured greens.
