The Alternative to a Concrete Base
Virtually every golf club and driving range operator utilizes some type of tee line turf turf or artificial grass hitting mats these days. While many operators initially placed these turf solutions on concrete bases, Ultra Base has provided a better alternative. but when it comes to the base.
The Project
This project involved the construction of a 6 foot wide by 300 foot long tee line at the Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora, Ontario. For a variety of reasons - including the challenges with keeping a concrete base from cracking - the club did not want to install a concrete base.
With Ultra Base, the building the base was as simple as removing the organics, adding some dust for stabilization, laying out the geosynthetic stabilization fabric and dropping the Ultra Base panels into place.
The week-long project was easy and now the club has a durable, fast draining base that won't crack or split like concrete.
