Turf Bocce Court on Ultra Base

A Better Way to Build

It does not take long for most people researching how to build a backyard bocce court to realize that they don't want to use a traditional crushed oyster shell surface.  These surfaces are extremely hard to maintain and tend to spread dust everywhere.  That is why most homeowners turn to artificial turf as the preferred surface for thier backyard bocce courts.

Bocce Court Construction with Ultra Base

The Situation

In this case, our customer had decided to integrate a turf bocce court into a concrete paver patio complete with a concrete block framed area for the court.

Ultra Base panels were selected for their ability to provide both the long-term structural support for the courts as well as the drainage required for this inset court.

Bocce Court with Turf

The Solution

The end result was a beautiful, low maintenance synthetic turf bocce court complete with an internal drainage system.  Thanks to the Ultra Base panel's vertical and horizontal flow capabilities, the courts drain quickly...minimizing any possibility of mold developing while maximizing the time that the court can be enjoyed.

In addition, Ultra Base's rigid structural base panels eliminate the ruts caused by constant ball rolls in traditional bases like crushed oyster shell, clay, or sand -  ensuring perfect play for many years.
