Convert Concrete or Asphalt Areas Into Athletic Fields Fast and Easy

Read Video Transcript and Main Points Addressed Below

Okay, so for years we’ve been wanting to get into the playground market. And as you’ll see in this presentation that we’re finally there with Ultra Base MAX, our new playground version and it’s really meant right now for the lower fall heights, the four to six foot and we have all the intentions of going higher. But how do we get a higher fall height? And recently we were challenged with a project that needed to go up to eight, 10, 12 feet. How do you do it? And how do you do it and have the fall height you want, but how do you get the feel underfoot that Ultra Base brings as compared to a dense foam pad?

Stacking Shock Absorption Foam On Top of Champion for 10 Foot Fall Heights Or Much Greater

So what we’ve done is we’ve been able to stack shock absorption foam and then a layer on top of that of the Ultra Base Champion Panel. And by doing that, we’re seeing that we’re getting high fall heights, six, eight, 10 foot fall heights, but we’re also getting the stability underfoot that a lot of installers are demanding now because we’re seeing flexing downwards of seams and seams breaking. Or for me a concern is how am I going to get an ADA compliant certificate or a wheelchair to be able to roll onto a playground if it’s sinking in and I can’t power through it? So think about this next time you’re doing an install. Again, we’re working on a big one right now. We’re hoping to get this project so we can share the video with you. What’s going to happen? It’s pretty impressive.

A Solid Foundation With the Safety You Need Underneath

But if you think about building foam on the ground, putting the Champion Panel on top, let that be the system that grabs your turf, allows the water to drain through the Champion Panel and ultimately drain through the foam and out or whatever the case may be. Keep that foam dry, but more importantly have that stability underfoot. So the Champion Panel is a great way for you to enter into the playground market for higher fall heights or lower fall heights. It works, but also it gives the stability that I’m looking for and I really believe in my heart that the playground product, it has to be stable underfoot and that’s what people are looking for and that’s what consumers are looking for. So think about it. Have any questions, give us a call and we’ll share some of the projects we’ve already done like this and kind of help guide you through.

Need to Test Your Turf on Our Systems? We Have All The Testing Machines In House - We'll Do It For Free

One more thing I want to throw out to you folks. We have in our facility a little small testing lab, which we have a Triax machine for GMAX and for playgrounds that we’ve showed you that in the past. If you’ve got a project and you’re trying to figure out how is your turf going to provide a GMAX number or a HIC number that is going to satisfy your customers, let us know. Send it to us. We don’t charge for this. This is something that it’s researched. We love it. So if we get a piece of turf and we can say, “Okay, we’re test it on whether it’s going to MAX or Champion or on a rock box or concrete, tell us what infill recipe you want. We can do this for you and come back with some preliminary results. They’re very accurate results. We’re using the same equipment that the big labs are. We just can’t write you the report that you could publish.

But if you want to try some things, and we do it every single day here, if you want to try some things and say, “Hey, I’ve got this turf. I’m not sure how it’s going to show up as far as GMAX. If I do this, this, and this…” Send it to us. Tell us the infill recipe, or if no infill, let us try it for you, test it for you and we’ll come back with you with the results. Many times we’ll actually FaceTime you so you can actually see the results on the screen so you know that they’re accurate. So it’s a service that we can offer here and we’re happy to do it. Again, it’s research. I love research. I love to learn, and that’s how we’re all going to continue to grow this market.
